The Arts program enables youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts, and creative writing.
The National Photography Program is designed to help Club members go beyond taking simple snapshots and develop the skills to produce photographs that can really impact a viewer. Popular and accessible, photography is a useful hook to engage young people of all ages, particularly middle and high school youth, in creative programming that simultaneously teaches them skills they will use for the rest of their lives.
The Fine Arts program is designed to provide a cultural activity for youth that will teach basic arts and crafts skills encompassing three basic areas: hand crafts, drawing, and painting. Youth learn various artistic techniques and learn to make different types of crafts using paints, scissors, paper, glue, pencils, pens, and other articles commonly found around the home. Artwork created through this program will be displayed prominently in Club houses and many will be chosen to represent the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana in an annual Fine Arts Public Exhibit. The goal of the Fine Arts program is to provide an activity for youth that will enable them to garner artistic and educational experiences.
Club Tech’s Digital Arts Suite Teaches members ages 6 to 18 how to create computer-generated art. The festivals showcase members digitally created masterpieces.
